The Sennheiser All-Day Clear is a premium over-the-counter hearing aid developed and made by Sonova, one of the world’s largest hearing aid makers. It streams calls and audio and is rated IP68.
The Sennheiser All-Day Clear is a well-made, comfortable premium OTC hearing aid with an excellent independent lab result: a HearAdvisor SoundScore of 4.4 out of 5 (Grade A), ranked among the top OTC aids tested. Behind the scenes it is a Sonova product, the company behind Phonak, and it shows in the build: IP68 dust and water protection, up to about 24 hours per charge, Bluetooth calls and streaming, and very good speech in quiet.
The numbers also show its weak spot. Its speech-in-noise score (1.9 out of 5) is far behind our top OTC pick, the ELEHEAR Beyond Pro (3.6), which also costs considerably less. The app adjusts sound to your preferences rather than running a true hearing test, and the charging case has no built-in battery.
Choose the All-Day Clear if you want a premium big-brand aid mainly for one-to-one conversation, TV and quieter rooms. If restaurants and family gatherings are where you struggle, the ELEHEAR Beyond Pro is the better buy.

Worth noting
- Weak speech-in-noise result for its price; the ELEHEAR Beyond Pro scored far higher
- Costs considerably more than other Grade A OTC aids

- Basic charging case with no built-in battery; a power pack costs extra
- No telecoil, so it cannot use hearing loops
- Only for mild-to-moderate hearing loss
Buy it if…
- You mainly struggle with TV and one-to-one conversation in quieter rooms
- You want a premium aid from a major audio and hearing brand
- You want strong water and dust protection, for example for gardening or sweaty walks
- You want Bluetooth calls and are comfortable with an app
Look elsewhere if…
- Restaurants and family gatherings are your main problem: the ELEHEAR Beyond Pro scored far better in noise for less money
- You want no smartphone at all: a button-only aid like the MDHearing VOLT 4 is simpler
- You want an aid fitted to an audiogram or hearing test: choose a self-fitting aid or see an audiologist
- You have severe hearing loss, sudden loss or loss in one ear: see a doctor first
What the Sennheiser All-Day Clear is
The All-Day Clear is an over-the-counter hearing aid for adults with perceived mild-to-moderate hearing loss. The Sennheiser name is on the box, but since 2022 Sennheiser’s consumer hearing business has belonged to Sonova, one of the world’s largest hearing aid makers, which develops and manufactures it.
It is a small receiver-in-canal aid: the body sits behind the ear and a thin wire carries the speaker into the canal, with a soft dome on the end. It is rechargeable, streams phone calls and audio over Bluetooth, and is controlled with buttons on the aid or the All-Day Clear app.
There is also an All-Day Clear Slim, a smaller version. HearAdvisor graded it A as well, but with a lower score (4.1) than the standard model, at a higher list price. For most buyers the standard All-Day Clear is the better value of the two.
Is the Sennheiser All-Day Clear good? What the lab found
HearAdvisor, an independent lab, measures hearing aids on a manikin in realistic sound scenes. Its September 2026 results for the All-Day Clear: SoundScore 4.4 out of 5, Grade A, ranked among the top OTC aids it has tested, and a 2026 Expert Choice award.
- Speech in quiet: 4.0–4.1 out of 5. Very good.
- Speech in noise: 1.9 out of 5. Above the OTC average, but low in absolute terms.
- Feedback control: 5.0 out of 5. Practically no whistling.
- Music streaming: about 3.3 out of 5.
- Own voice: 2.5 out of 5.
Compared with ELEHEAR: the ELEHEAR Beyond Pro scored a higher overall 4.8, and 3.6 for speech in noise, nearly double the All-Day Clear, at a lower price. The Sennheiser’s case rests on build, comfort, its IP68 rating and the brand, not on outperforming the best value pick.
| Sennheiser All-Day Clear | All-Day Clear Slim | ELEHEAR Beyond Pro | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Overall SoundScore | 4.4 (A) | 4.1 (A) | 4.8 (A) |
| Speech in quiet | 4.0–4.1 | 3.6 | 4.3 |
| Speech in noise | 1.9 | 1.5 | 3.6 |
| Feedback | 5.0 | 5.0 | 5.0 |
The app and how it is fitted
Setup uses the All-Day Clear app’s My Sound Profile, which adjusts the sound based on which speech samples you prefer. According to HearingTracker, it does not measure your hearing thresholds or accept an audiogram from your audiologist. That makes it simpler to set up, but less precisely tuned than aids that run a proper in-app hearing test.
In the app you can change volume, choose between programs such as Conversation in Quiet, Conversation in Noise and Live Music, use a simple three-band tone control, and switch on wind noise reduction. Day to day, the aids adjust automatically, and the buttons on the aids cover basic changes.
For a parent who is not app-savvy, a family member can do the setup. Afterwards, the buttons are enough for most daily use.
Battery, charging case and durability
Sennheiser and HearingTracker give up to about 24 hours per charge, depending on how much you stream. A full recharge takes up to 3 hours.
The charging case is basic: it has no battery of its own, so it must be plugged in, and it uses an older micro-USB connector. If you travel, Sennheiser sells an optional power pack separately.
It is rated IP68 for dust and water, stronger than the IPX5 rating of the ELEHEAR Beyond Pro. That gives real peace of mind with rain, sweat or a splash, though it is still not designed for swimming.
Price, trial and warranty
- Price: about $1,000 a pair list price from Sennheiser before promotions; offers often bring it lower. Check the current Amazon price.
- Returns: within 45 days of delivery for eligible orders from Sennheiser’s US store, with original packaging. Check the return terms of wherever you buy.
- Warranty: 1 year, with paid extensions available.
- Paying: OTC hearing aids are usually FSA and HSA eligible. Original Medicare does not cover hearing aids; some Medicare Advantage plans include an allowance.
Spares: domes and wax guards need replacing regularly. Budget a small amount for them each year.
Sennheiser All-Day Clear vs ELEHEAR, Jabra and MDHearing
vs ELEHEAR Beyond Pro: the ELEHEAR Beyond Pro scored higher overall and much higher in noise, and costs less. The Sennheiser wins on water and dust protection and brand. For most buyers, the ELEHEAR is the better value.
vs Jabra Enhance: Jabra’s Enhance aids are sold with remote audiologist care and longer trial and warranty terms. Consider them if ongoing professional support matters more than price.
vs MDHearing VOLT 4: the MDHearing VOLT 4 is a fraction of the price, with no app and simpler sound. It suits a parent who will not use a phone.
All are compared in our best hearing aids for seniors guide.
